"This clinic and the dedicated people that work here never lay claim to make your life pain free.  But if you have an open mind and a willingness to learn you can learn just how every day life can affect your pain levels.  With the techniques and knowledge learned here, it just might make your day a little easier and a little easier is a good thing on a daily basis.  My deepest tahnks and gratitude to the staff."  Mr. Dale J. Hall, Veteran, completed the CPMU in Sept 2013

"I think that everyone that has any type of pain would greatly benefit from this program. The staff here are exceptional.  It was an amazing and eye-opening experience. I give great thanks to all the staff at the pain management clinic."

"The Program helped me with depression, anxiety, stress, and physical ability.  All the staff were great in giving advice and knowledge to us. They were courteous and professional. I was taught more about chronic pain in one month than I have received in four years."

----------------------------------------------

"The pain management team have provided education in all areas of everyday life. They also took time to address individual concerns. This has increased my understanding of what I can and need to do to improve overall fitness and wellness."

"Before beginning the program I was in a very dark place. I did not want to get up. I feel this program has saved my life in many respects. If I had continued with all the negative thinking I could have become ill. Self-Talk was the last group and I believe one of the most important. Self-Talk is the root and the beginning of a better life. THANK YOU."

"I came in for relief of pain in my lower back and upper shoulder. One of my main goals was to rid myself of my TENS unit.  I‘m leaving with total confidence in myself that I'll not use it again, unless in extreme circumstances.  From the fitness program, my lower back pain has improved immensely from awareness of my posture.  Although I still have my shoulder pain, I find that it (pain) is more controllable although I still am dependent on my medications.  I found the relaxation sessions were an excellent tool for coping with every day stress.  My thanks to the staff at the clinic, that acted very professional, yet still personal, they were a real pleasure to help me on a long personal struggle."

"I learned to hold the golf club with my right hand so I can play golf with my son, I Iearned a fitness program that will work for me,   I reduced my medicines, my stomach feels better, I learned about nutrition for my body and mind, I learned to ask for help and feel good about it , I am visiting my family and friends more,  I learned to feel better about myselfI learned how to breath better, I  don't push the pain, I  take breaks, I relax my mind and my body, I am learning to be right handed and teach my left to help, and don't push the pain.  Little by little, day after day my brain will accept the change.  I am extremely thankful for the excellent team at the pain clinic, for helping me learn to manage my pain inside and out.  Thank you for teaching me new ways to feel better everyday."

“I’ve learned that I am not alone, there are other people with chronic pains like me. The depression, loneliness, anxiety, stress, withdrawal from friends and family is common with people with chronic pain sufferers and I‘ve learned to deal with this with all the help of the chronic pain staff. Exercise, nutrition, relaxation, therapy, communication, proper sleep habits made my day to day living improve a lot. I don’t have to push myself in everything I do, I can pace and relax and delegate other things without feeling guilty.”

“In the last 4 weeks I’ve attended I’ve learned a lot about myself and others with the help of the staff. The empathy, kindness and understanding the staff showed to me made me realize that I’m still a whole person and can function well even with my limitations. Not being judged or criticized if I am not able to do things. Always reminding me to pace and not push myself to prevent increased pain. The weekly goal assessment conference assisted me to have future plans. The case manager meeting was a great help for me; the advice he gave me, tools to use for everyday living. The functional activities made me realize that I can do things that I’ve never done before. The connection with the other patients gave me more hope as I’m not alone and chronic pain is not in my mind but it’s real."

“This program enlightens you to see other strategies to motivate, modify on an every day basis. The fitness is very beneficial. You pace yourself at your level. Positive attitude knowing that I have pain and I must take control of my own pain. Exercise will become part of my daily routine. I will use the tools provided to me. Thank you.”

“When I first came to the Program I was like a caterpillar; slow and just surviving in the large world. Now I am building my chrysalis; consciously preparing for something beyond what I knew. When the time is right, I will emerge and soar above the large world. My new motto is “It’s not how fast you can go! It’s about pacing through the human race!. Thank you for everything!”

“It was a wonderful experience and was a good thing for me to do for myself. I learned so many great strategies to help me now and in the future with dealing with my pain. I know it will never go away but now I can manage it better to be able to do more with family and friends. Thanks!”

“My experience @ the program was great. I learned some great strategies to cope with my pain and can’t wait to apply them to my everyday life. In the beginning I’d thought the 4 weeks would take forever & now that it’s my last day I wish I had another 2 weeks. I’ll definitely keep up with my fitness regime and stay social. These were two things I learned that are really important 4 both body and soul. Thx again 4 showing me that I do still have a life to live 4 & that it’s up 2 me to lead it where I want 2 go.”

-------------------------------------------

“In the last month I have learned that life does go on even with chronic pain. I am ready to move on with my life, go to school, enjoy what life has to offer. I could not have done it without all the help from everyone here at the Pain Clinic.”

-------------------------------------------

“I am fortunate to have been able to experience this intense program. I have learned skills to help me manage my pain. I have also gained insight into the damage pain has caused in my life, I now know that I am to be in control / make decisions that will help keep my pain levels manageable. This will help me avoid the ‘Pain Cycle’ leading to frustration, anger and depression. Thank you ALL! I still have a long way to go but the techniques and practices that I have learned here have given me new-found hope, motivation and a positive proactive attitude. Even though I know and have accepted the fact that I will not get my old life back, I will have a new life regardless of expected bad days”

“I was anti-social, the clinic made me feel “included” with like-minded people. Helped me see I can do more than I thought and by modifying and breaks. Helped to control some pain with relaxation, breathing, and reconnected with friends and family - socially plus a routine!! and confidence.”

--------------------------------------------

“In fitness I was taught more than my doctors taught me. The place was like tranquility. The people and staff are all so very nice. I really mean this. It was also fun learning. Thank you for teaching me some techniques I will use the rest of my life. Thank you very much.”

“I can walk longer already with modifying and pacing. I know I'm going to get my life back.”

----------------------------------------------

“I was very overwhelmed the first 1 to 2 weeks, lots of helpful information to digest, lots of ideas to help manage my pain (couldn’t believe how simple some ideas were, and they work). All staff were very knowledgeable, helpful, good listeners, and very positive people. They make the atmosphere comfortable enough to ask questions. I recommend this program to everyone who has chronic pain. It certainly helps you realize your feelings. Thank you!”

“this program has given me a new lease on life. Now, I am virtually pain free and it’s because of this program and the people who run it. My wife is thrilled with my progress and has vowed to see me through my home program. Thank you all sincerely."
