The physiotherapists focus on teaching the patient to become independent in their exercises. They work in a group setting. The patient learns to work 'within their pain tolerance'. The patient will achieve this by learning to assess his/her performance during exercising.
They encourage the patient to alter their approach by modifying the level of difficulty to suit their abilities. Exercises become manageable. No hands on treatments are done because assessment and treatment processes are different from typical (acute) physiotherapy approaches.

There are daily fitness sessions under the direction of a physiotherapist. The fitness aspect of the Program consists of an aerobic walking component and a floor exercise component. |
The floor regiment is comprised of 18 exercises, 9 stretching and stengthening exercises for the upper body and 9 for the lower body. The emphasis is on performing exercise to respect pain boundaries by exercising at their individual baselines, and on modifying each exercise to make them manageable. |
