This RFA Program is a competitive call to fund new research areas of high strategic priority to support emerging areas/teams with high potential for research success.  This strategy will expand the existing base of research at Hamilton Health Sciences with the goal that a few new areas of research will achieve national or international stature within the next 5 to 10 years.

2012 RFA Program Results

Last year we announced a strategic research initiative competition. After a rigorous two-step process, that initially included letters of intent, followed by  peer-review of full proposals from five groups, two awards have been made.

Congradulations to the following recipients of the 2012 competition:

"Assisting Teen Mothers and their Children in Hamilton"
Grant Amount: $300,000 over 3 years

Dr. P.J. Devereaux
Population Health Research Institute
"Expanding the Emerging Collaboration in the field of Perioperative Medicine"
Grant Amount: $300,000 over 3 years
