Drug Treatment Side Effects
Side effects from HIV drugs can affect women differently:
Severe allergic reactions (hypersensitivity) or rash from some HIV drugs;
Changes in fat metabolism result in fat disappearing from some parts of the body (lipoatrophy)
Body fat accumulates over some regions of the body, such as the breasts and stomach (Lipodystrophy)
Deficiency in red blood cells, either hemoglobin or total volume (anemia) and bone loss
