About the Department
The McMaster University Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is a large multi-site department with over 100 Geographic full-time, part-time clinical and adjunct faculty located at two fully-affiliated teaching hospitals, community teaching hospitals and other distributed education sites.There are five clinical divisions, a group of Generalists and one basic science division within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology: • Generalists • Gynecologic Oncology • Maternal Fetal Medicine • Midwifery • Reproductive Biology (Basic Science) • Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility • Urogynecology Read our Spring 2017 Newsletter by clicking here! |

Leadership Roles
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology has several key positions and each play an important educational leadership role within the Department.Continuing Education Director Dr Dustin Costescu
The Continuing Education Director is responsible for overseeing the organization and delivery of Continuing Education activities of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at McMaster University. These include monthly Grand Rounds, NSOG and other department events.Residency Program Director Dr Valerie Mueller
The Residency Program Director is responsible for supervision and facilitation of Postgraduate training in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at McMaster University.Undergraduate Program Director Dr Dan Reilly
The Undergraduate Program Director is responsible for the supervision and facilitation of Undergraduate training within the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at McMaster University.Associate Chair Education (ACE) Dr Amie Cullimore
The primary objective of this role is to promote excellence in education and research within the Department. The ACE will have overall knowledge of the educational activities and roles of all faculty members within the Department. The role will be responsible for mentoring/tutoring new and current faculty in meeting tenure and promotion requirements. The ACE will be acutely aware of innovations in education within the University and the Faculty of Health Sciences and in the broader academic world.Associate Department Education Coordinator (A-DEC) Dr Derek Lobb
The individual will have overall knowledge of the educational activities and roles of all faculty members within the Department. The individual will be responsible to develop solutions to long-term planning and issues affecting education in the department.
