Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition – General

Pediatric GI clinical consultation includes multidisciplinary assessment and ongoing treatment for chronic GI conditions. Although Physician to Physician Consultation is provided, most patients will be first assessed in the General GI Consultation Clinic by virtual or in person assessment. Patients may then be followed as appropriate in ten sub-specialty clinics listed below. Urgent referrals should be discussed with the Pediatric GI Physician on Call by calling the hospital page operator (905-521-2030). All referrals are triaged so that sick patients will be seen quickly. As wait lists are long, referrals for patients with non-urgent problems may be redirected to consulting pediatricians in our region. A full range of specialized GI investigation is available with endoscopy done under General anaesthetic for patients under age 18

For more information, visit the Gastroenterology and Nutrition Clinic page for patients and families.
