Workshops and Consultations

The Infant Parent Program offers free 8-session workshops, in-home interventions, and consultations.

COPEing with Toddler Behaviour

In this 8-session workshop for moms and dads of toddlers 12-36 months old, you will have an opportunity to watch video clips, learn about parenting approaches and strategies, and discuss these issues with the leaders and other parents.

Circle of Security Parenting

In this 8-session workshop for moms and dads of children 1-6 years, you will have an opportunity to watch video clips, learn strategies to enhance the parent-child attachment relationship and improve child behaviour, and discuss these issues with the leaders and other parents.

Attachment Guidance

You will meet with a clinician in your home. Using videotaping, you will learn ways to develop a close relationship with your baby. This helps them develop well. This intervention is for parents who have trauma in their history.

Watch, Wait and Wonder

You will meet with a clinician in your home. You will work together to understand how interacting with your child builds a good relationship. This helps them develop well.

Home Visits

You will meet with a clinician in your home. You will work together to identify goals related to your child’s development or your family, and strategies to meet those goals. Toys, books, videos and equipment will be available on loan from your clinician.

Developmental Assessment

You and your child will meet the psychometrist in the clinic for testing. The developmental assessment compares your child’s development with that of other children of the same age, helping to identify your child’s strengths and abilities, as well as skills that may need special attention. At another meeting, the psychometrist will share the results of the assessment with you.

Speech/Language Consultation

You and your child will meet with the speech-language pathologist to identify your child’s communication needs and discuss recommendations.
