Three Hamilton Health Sciences physicians appointed to the Order of Canada

Hamilton Health Sciences (HHS) is very pleased to share that three HHS physicians have been invested into the Order of Canada – Canada’s highest civilian honour. They are Dr. Tim Whelan, Dr. Peter Rosenbaum and Dr. Saroj Saigal.

The Order of Canada recognizes outstanding achievement, dedication and service by individuals who are making a difference in the lives of others.

Through his leadership in patient care and research, Dr. Tim Whelan, radiation oncologist at HHS’ Juravinski Cancer Centre and professor at McMaster University, has redefined global standards of care for patients with breast cancer.

Dr. Rosenbaum, developmental pediatrician at HHS’ McMaster Children’s Hospital and professor at McMaster University, has dedicated his career to improving how children with disabilities and their families are supported by improving clinical practices around the world.

Neonatologist at McMaster Children’s Hospital and professor emerita at McMaster University, Dr. Saroj Saigal has had a global impact on the health and life outcomes of premature infants through her ground-breaking research on long-term outcomes of babies weighing less than 1kg at birth.

Please join us in congratulating each of these three remarkable individuals. They have improved the lives of countless patients and families, as well as contributed immensely to educating several new generations of clinicians and researchers.
