One year later: Historic Ontario pediatric health care funding results in increased access to care
Today, Hamilton Health Sciences’ McMaster Children’s Hospital and the other members of the Children’s Health Coalition celebrate the one-year milestone of a historic investment in Ontario’s pediatric health care system from the provincial government.
One year after a $330 million commitment, kids and families are already seeing the benefits – access to specialized pediatric health care has increased, response times are improving, and more services are available to support the health and well-being of Ontario’s children and families.
“This historic investment has been instrumental in increasing access to excellent pediatric care at McMaster Children’s Hospital and the Ron Joyce Children’s Health Centre. It has enabled our team to stabilize, increase capacity, drive innovation, and enhance our expertise in delivering exceptional pediatric care. Across the entire hospital, we have seen global improvements and continue to see positive outcomes. As regional leaders in pediatric care, this funding impacts children and families in need far beyond the borders of Hamilton, and we are grateful to the Ontario government for their support.”
