SHINE Wellness wins Team Wellbeing Award at Ontario Health awards event
The SHINE Wellness team was honoured with the Team Wellbeing Award at the first Ontario Health System Quality and Innovation Awards. The award acknowledges the SHINE program and the efforts of those working to promote health and well-being throughout Hamilton Health Sciences (HHS).
Melissa Cummings and Natalie Plausini, both healthy workplace specialists with HHS’ SHINE Wellness program, accepted the award at the inaugural ceremony last Thursday at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health at the University of Toronto.
“Leaders we spoke to at the event were extremely impressed by what we are doing at HHS to enhance team wellbeing,” says Cummings.
The Ontario Health System Quality and Innovation Awards acknowledge and celebrate the accomplishments of individuals and teams in the Ontario health system. The SHINE program is one of only seven winners out of more than 200 submissions received by Ontario Health this year.
“This prestigious award is the result of Melissa and Natalie’s unwavering dedication and outstanding contributions to championing wellness initiatives at HHS,” says Susan Fuciarelli, director of health, safety and wellness. “It’s an honour for HHS to have received this award.”
Ontario Health aims to establish the awards as a tradition that annually honours the dedication, innovation and excellence in Ontario’s healthcare system, promoting a culture of recognition and continuous improvement.
