Clinic Visits During COVID-19 at McMaster Children’s Hospital
To provide our patients, families, and staff with the safest possible experience while visiting McMaster Children’s Hospital during the COVID-19 pandemic, we ask that the following processes are followed by all visitors.
All patients and parents/guardians are required to enter into the hospital at the following entrance locations:
- Underground parking through yellow and red elevators (visit the parking page for more parking information)
- Front entrance only
Once you enter the building, you will be screened for COVID-19 and all visitors will be given a mask if you do not already have one. We are ask that you and your child wear the mask for the full duration of your visit. For more information on the screening process, visit the photo gallery to see what you can expect. Please go directly to your appointment from screening.
Please note: due to COVID-19, only one parent/guardian can accompany the patient per visit, and we ask that no siblings accompany at this time. One parent/guardian must be present for all clinical visits.
While visiting the clinic, you must:
- check in at your clinic appointment location first to advise them if you have tests to be completed
- bring a valid health card to the appointment
- not arrive more than 10 minutes early
If you cannot attend this appointment, please contact the booking office number indicated on your appointment letter, or call 905 521 2100 and your call will be redirected by switchboard to the appropriate clinic.
Please Note: We are gradually rescheduling some appointments and procedures that were cancelled due to COVID-19, beginning with urgent cases. We will contact you when we are ready to reschedule your appointment. Thank you for your patience.
