Meredith John (right) and her twin sister Courtney were born at McMaster Children’s hospital almost 10 weeks prematurely. Meredith stayed in the NICU for five months, and was featured in the 2006 MacKids calendar. Today, she’s a staff member at the hospital and both sisters are starting university in the fall.

Today marks the 75th anniversary of the United Nations General Assembly adopting the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. This document identifies the rights that every person is entitled to regardless of race, colour, religion, sex, language, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status.

Dr. Joan Bellaire figures she signs her name at le

Dr. Joan Bellaire figures she signs her name at least 1,000 times a year for work. But on Nov. 23, her signature felt extra special because it was signed on the last beam needed to build the new West Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

Dozens of staff, doctors, community leaders and supporters took part in the beam-signing ceremony hosted by @WLMHFoundation, a tradition in the construction industry to mark a special milestone in the building process.
