Additional changes to Family Presence Guidelines
With evidence of decreased community prevalence of COVID-19, including declining hospital admissions, high rates of vaccination among citizens, zero outbreaks and much lower rates of staff absence at HHS, Hamilton Health Sciences (HHS) is further easing restrictions associated with our Family Presence Guidelines.
As of March 7:
- In-patients may have up to two essential caregivers/ support persons/ visitors per day, and they may be present together any time during visiting hours (the guideline describes discretion that can be used for exceptional patient circumstances).
- Patients will be able to change their visitor lists.
- Children under the age of 12 will be permitted to visit if they are able to keep their mask on and are supervised by an adult.
*Please note: these guidelines pertain to patients with COVID-19 – there are specific circumstances/guidelines that pertain to patients with COVID-19.
