An update on COVID-19 outbreaks at the Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Center site of Hamilton Health Sciences

HAMILTON, ON – Three units at the Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Center are currently under a COVID-19 outbreak declaration: the E3, B3 and F5 wards.

The cases that can be directly linked to the outbreaks are:
• 13 patients (11 remain at the JHCC)
• Nine staff members
• Two learners

No visitors are currently allowed on the units in outbreaks except on compassionate grounds. Staff working on any outbreak unit will not work anywhere else until the outbreak is declared over or may only be allowed to work on other units where an outbreak has been declared.
Patient testing will continue as per our COVID protocol. All health care workers who work on the three units have been, or will be, tested as well as any staff, physicians and learners who may have spent periods of time on the units.
