HHS implements COVID-19 Vaccination Management Policy
As a leading academic health sciences centre, Hamilton Health Sciences embraces the science showing that vaccines are the safest and most effective weapon in the battle against the spread of COVID-19. Accordingly, our goal and our expectation is that every worker at HHS who can be vaccinated will be vaccinated.
Senior leadership at HHS is leading by example in this regard. Every member of HHS’ Board of Directors and executive leadership team is fully vaccinated.
HHS’ COVID-19 Vaccination Management Policy is fully compliant with the Chief Medical Officer of Health’s directive, and acknowledges and respects individual human rights, as well as valid medical exemptions. Everyone must disclose and prove their vaccination status, and for those not vaccinated, education and regular testing must be undertaken.
The requirement for HHS workers to be vaccinated is not new. Everyone who works at HHS has had to be vaccinated against other diseases prior to being allowed to work at HHS.
We will closely monitor our progress towards our goal of 100 per cent vaccination and we will implement additional measures as needed.
Our priority is the health and safety of our patients, as well as our staff, physicians, learners, volunteers and anyone else who enters our sites. This vaccination policy is one more step toward defeating COVID-19.
The contributions to fight against this pandemic by everyone at HHS is gratefully acknowledged.
