New outbreak declared at Hamilton General Hospital

Hamilton Health Sciences (HHS), in conjunction with Hamilton Public Health, today declared a new outbreak of COVID-19 on 5 West (5W) at the Hamilton General Hospital. Three staff members and one patient have tested positive for the virus.

As a COVID-19 designated unit, 5 West remains open for admissions of COVID-19 positive patients.

At this time, no visitors will be allowed on the unit except on compassionate grounds. This will be re-evaluated on Monday, March 1.
