Outbreak update for March 23

Hamilton General Hospital

HHS Infection Prevention and Control, in consultation with Hamilton Public Health, has declared the outbreak at 5 West (5W) over as of today, March 23, 2021. The unit is a COVID-designated unit.

There is an ongoing outbreak at 8 West (8W). As a result, the 8 West unit is closed to admissions. At this time, no visitors will be allowed on the unit except on compassionate grounds.

Additionally, there is an outbreak at the Short Stay Medical Unit (SSMU) at the HGH.

Juravinski Hospital

The outbreak on F3 that was declared on Friday, March 12 continues, as does the outbreak on F5, which was declared on March 14. Both units are closed to admissions.

St. Peter’s Hospital

An outbreak has been declared on 3W at SPH. As a result of this outbreak, the 3W unit is currently closed for admissions. No visitors are currently allowed on the unit except on compassionate grounds.
