Statement Regarding Anti-Two-Spirit and LGBTQIA+ Protests

Creating an environment where every person at Hamilton Health Sciences (HHS) feels included, safe and respected for who they are is key to living our values and achieving our vision of Best Care for All.

For that reason, we want to make it clear that HHS stands with Two-Spirit and LGBTQIA+ staff, physicians, patients and community members, and that we support everyone’s human rights and freedom of gender expression.

Harassment, discrimination and hate have no place at our hospital, and we remain steadfast in our commitment to building a working, learning and care environment that is safer, more inclusive and accessible for all. HHS is a safe space for trans, Two-Spirit and non-binary youth, and we will continue to make gender-affirming support and resources accessible in our community.
