An update on outbreaks of COVID-19 at Hamilton Health Sciences – Jan. 22
HAMILTON, ON – There are currently four HHS sites with declared COVID outbreaks.
Juravinski Hospital
The outbreak that began on E3 now includes 22 cases. The outbreak on F4 continues. The earliest date for declaring the outbreak over is February 1. On January 21, an outbreak was declared on E4. The outbreak includes three staff and no patients.
Satellite Health Facility
Since Wednesday, two additional patients on the second floor and five additional staff members have been found to be COVID positive. Fewer than five of the patients who are connected to the second floor outbreak have passed away. We extend our deepest condolences to family members. The floor is closed to admissions.
The second and third floors of the Satellite Health Facility remain in outbreak status. Both are HHS floors. The fourth floor opening has been delayed but is expected in February.
West Lincoln Memorial Hospital
As of today, 12 patients have tested positive for COVID-19 in relation to the outbreak on C Ward. Less than five of the patients who are connected to the C Ward outbreak have passed away. We extend our deepest condolences to those families.
