HHS moves forward on equity and diversity
Creating an environment where every person at Hamilton Health Sciences feels included, safe, and respected is key to achieving our vision of Best Care for All. Yet we know that, in our hospital, patients and members of our workforce experience racism, discrimination, and oppression. This is unacceptable, and change is overdue.
Equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) is now an organizational priority and we are creating a work plan to ensure that EDI is embedded in everything we do.
One of the inputs into HHS’ EDI plan will be a report that was generated with the support of the President’s Advisory Council (PAC) on EDI.
The report – Equity, Diversity and Inclusion at HHS Report and Recommendations – is the result of a year-long process and reflects the input and lived experiences of thousands of people from within HHS and community partners, collected through a variety of engagement exercises, including interviews and surveys.
