Pushing beyond our limits – voices from inside the ICU

For each ICU patient, there is an army of healthcare professionals and staff required to provide care. Hear from them, in their own words.

2021 was an exceptional year, especially for healthcare workers who were on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic. Many were redeployed from their regular roles to screening or critical care areas as the world grappled with the third wave of the pandemic.

Our staff and physicians also continued tirelessly caring for patients in our regional programs like cardiac and cancer care, or in our children’s hospital. Administrative and support staff contributed to the operations of the hospital, albeit behind the scenes.

Everyone working at HHS has made a difference.

Our team of 15,000 staff, physicians, researchers and volunteers proudly serve people from across the province. They offer specialized, advanced care and world-leading expertise in many areas. They are at the core of all that we do to provide the best care for all.
