1:1 Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) Therapy

Behaviour Custom Life Skills

All 1:1 ABA therapy begins with a comprehensive assessment and custom behaviour plan to meet your child’s individual needs. Program plans can focus on building skills or reducing challenging behaviours. Examples of skills include: communication, toileting, play, etc. Examples of reducing challenging behaviours may include: yelling, aggression, self-injury, property destruction, etc. All programming is supervised by a BCBA clinician.

1:1 Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Custom

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based intervention that is goal-oriented and short-term. The focus of CBT is to challenge and change unhelpful thoughts, behaviours, and feelings, and to develop coping skills and strategies to help improve functioning and quality of life.

Individual CBT is provided to your child by a Ph. D. level psychologist.

(All psychological services are eligible for billing to private insurance providers)

Anxiety & Autism

This workshop will review the current literature on evidence-based strategies related to anxiety and youth with an Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Art Auction in Celebration of World Autism Awareness Day

In recognition of World Autism Day, Ron Joyce Children’s Health Centre organizes an annual art auction consisting of donated pieces from clients and community members. Staff and families look forward to bidding on their favourite artwork every year, which includes pieces created in our programs.

In addition to the auction, the event includes raffles, interactive activities and autism awareness information. Bidding can be done in person or via phone the day of the event.

Communication Play & Leisure Social

Does your child enjoy arts and crafts? This group targets skills including turn-taking, sharing, requesting items, asking for help and following instructions. Participants get to take their art home!

Supervised by a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) clinician.
