ACTion for ASD

Mental Health Social
ACTion for ASD is a group-based Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) program for teens in high school who are struggling with emotional difficulties. ACT is a type of cognitive behavioural therapy that focuses on supporting teens to pursue a meaningful life driven by what is important to them, rather than focusing on getting rid of, controlling, or avoiding, unpleasant inner thoughts and feelings. The group aims to teach a set of skills that allow teens to handle painful thoughts and feelings more effectively, so they are able to do what matters, even when it is difficult or uncomfortable. This program is facilitated by a Psychologist. A screening will be completed in order to determine whether this group is clinically appropriate. Parents or teens who are interested should contact us as soon as possible in order to book a screening.
