Project Odyssey is Hamilton Health Sciences’ venture to renew its hospital information system to Epic. The state-of-the-art platform will collect, store, manage and transmit a patient’s electronic medical record.

Epic is targeted to launch in June 2022.

Launching Epic

Moving to a new electronic platform to manage all of our patients’ healthcare data will:

  • Improve patient experience
  • Improve the work life of health care providers
  • Deliver value through improved safety and quality
  • Advance health care and innovation
  • Improve health across the continuum of care

Landmark Transformation

The move to Epic is a landmark clinical transformation and represents one of the biggest changes to operations in our history.

Epic will keep our organization among leading hospitals in Canada with a worldwide reputation as a centre of excellence in care, research and learning.

Benefits for patients, staff and physicians

More importantly, Epic will give staff and physicians a better way to manage workloads, patient data and make smarter decisions in real time. It enables us to become a fully digital workplace.

Patients will benefit from HHS being on a common platform as some of our peers, enabling clinicians to access health information quickly and get a better snapshot of their health record and journey.

Thank you for joining us on this journey.

Staff and physicians, please log in to the HHS Hub for additional information about Project Odyssey.
