Digital Health Care

At Hamilton Health Sciences (HHS), we’re on a journey to transform the way we provide care. On June 4, 2022, HHS will move to a new, state-of-the-art electronic platform to manage all of our patients’ health-care data. This system, called Epic, will provide a single personal health record for each patient and improve patient safety and quality of care. With Epic, comes the launch of MyChart for patients. MyChart is an online tool that allows you to securely view your hospital health information. This major transformation will improve your patient experience.

We have also moved to offering more virtual care at HHS, a model that allows patients to access high-quality care outside of the hospital environment. Throughout the pandemic, the use of virtual appointments – appointments that take place through technology like a phone, tablet, or computer – skyrocketed. While the pandemic has changed the way we deliver health care, our patients are still getting the same excellent care, but with more modern tools.

In this section, learn about our digital healthcare tools such as Epic, MyChart, virtual care, and more.

Hospital Information System (Epic)

The modern hospital information system, Epic, provides a single personal health record for each patient. Putting all a patient’s health information in one easy-to-access place will improve patient safety and quality of care. Learn about Epic at HHS.

MyChart is an online tool for your mobile phone, tablet or computer that allows you to securely view your hospital health information such as notes and test results, keep track of appointments, attend video visits, and more. Learn about MyChart at HHS.

Virtual Care

Virtual care is a health care delivery model that enables our patients to access high quality care outside of the hospital environment. This is achieved through the use of technology or other forms of communication. Learn about virtual care at HHS.

HHS offers patients and their families access to their medical imaging records online through PocketHealth. Once you enrol for access, you can view your entire medical imaging history at all HHS sites, share imaging instantly with any physician or even burn your own CD/USB from home. There is a $5.00 fee at the time of enrollment, and it includes permanent access to all previous imaging and radiologist reports as well as any new exams patients undergo over the following two weeks.

Use the online form to enrol or fill out the paper form you’re given at registration, and submit it to Diagnostic Services reception.

PocketHealth is different from MyChart in that you can access the actual diagnostic-grade images and share them with other providers. In MyChart, you can see test results, but not necessarily the images themselves, which are very large digital files.

Accessing Your Health Information
