Located in central Hamilton since 1890, St. Peter’s Hospital (SPH) provides complex continuing care across four inpatient programs: palliative care, restorative rehabilitation, complex medical and behavioral. Outpatient clinics for diseases related to aging and the GERAS Centre for Aging Research, affiliated with McMaster University, is based at St. Peter’s. Although the SPH patient population is primarily older adults, each of the four programs also serve adults of all ages.
How to Get Here
From Toronto:
- Travel west on the QEW. Take the exit for Hwy. 403 to Hamilton/Brantford.
- Take the exit on to Main St. E (Hwy. 8).
- Continue on Main Street until Sherman Avenue; turn right onto Sherman Avenue.
- Turn left onto Maplewood Avenue; St. Peter's will be on the right hand side.
From Niagara:
- Travel West on QEW. Take the exit for Nikola Tesla Boulevard (Hwy exit #90).
- Turn left onto Gage Avenue North.
- Turn Right onto Maplewood Avenue; St. Peter's will be on the left hand side.
From Brantford:
- Travel East on Hwy. 403.
- Take the exit for Main St. E (Hwy. 8).
- Continue on Main Street until Sherman Avenue; turn right onto Sherman Avenue.
- Turn Left onto Maplewood Avenue; St. Peter's will be on the right hand side.
Public Transit
Several Hamilton Street Railway (HSR) bus routes services this area, including the 5 – Delaware which stops right outside St Peter’s and the 10 – B-Line and 1 – King, which stop at King and Sherman (Westbound) and Main opposite Garfield (Eastbound).
