Diagnostic Services are a vital part of patient care at all Hamilton Health Sciences sites. Our Diagnostic Services teams conduct many of the tests and scans you may receive when you’re at the hospital. They include diagnostic imaging, nuclear medicine, and the Medical Diagnostic Unit (MDU).

Nuclear Medicine

Nuclear Medicine is an area of medicine that uses small amounts of radioactive materials to diagnose and treat a variety of diseases including several types of cancers, heart disease and other abnormalities.
