Hamilton Health Sciences (HHS) will be implementing a new self-screening tool for patients, families, essential caregivers and support persons attending their pediatric ambulatory clinic appointment. This online screening tool will allow patients, approved essential caregivers, and support persons to screen in advance, on their personal device, the day of their appointment to the hospital.
Screening in advance may help reduce wait times at the screening stations. Each person must complete a screening, visitor or patient.

The updated tool can be found at screening.hhsc.ca. All patients, approved essential caregivers, and support persons will need to show the screener the completed notification before entering the site, or they will need to be screened for COVID-19 risk factors upon arrival to an HHS site.

Once you enter the building, you will be screened for COVID-19. All patients and visitors will be asked to remove personal cloth mask, and will be given a hospital surgical mask. We are ask that you and your child wear the mask for the full duration of your visit.

Please note: due to COVID-19, two parents/guardians can accompany the patient per visit, and we ask that no siblings accompany at this time. One parent/guardian must be present for all clinical visits.

If you or your child are not well and you are concerned about attending your appointment, please contact your clinic to discuss options for rescheduling.

While visiting the clinic, you must:

  • check in at your clinic appointment location first to advise them if you have tests to be completed
  • bring a valid health card to the appointment
  • not arrive more than 10 minutes early

If you cannot attend this appointment, please contact the booking office number indicated on your appointment letter, or call 905 521 2100 and your call will be redirected by switchboard to the appropriate clinic.

Please Note: We are gradually rescheduling some appointments and procedures that were cancelled due to COVID-19, beginning with urgent cases. We will contact you when we are ready to reschedule your appointment. Thank you for your patience.
