The Pediatric GI Feeding and Swallowing Team (FAST) clinic provides consultative multidisciplinary assessment of aeordigestive disorders. The primary goal of the clinic is to provide coordinated team input from occupational therapy, nutrition, nursing and gastroenterology physician perspectives and to liaise closely with community providers for comprehensive and ongoing care. Patients assessments can include a clinical feeding and swallowing assessment as part of the consultative or follow up encounter. Further evaluations, if deemed appropriate, include videofluoroscopic swallowing study, upper GI contrast study and upper endoscopy; these specialized investigations would be booked separately from clinic visits. The FAST clinic actively provides collaborative care with multiple pediatric subspecialty and surgical services, as well with regional children’s development and treatment centres.
